How to paint glass, glass ceramics, Plexiglas
Preparation of glass
Before painting, the surface of the glass should be cleaned and degreased for this purpose traditional household glass cleaners. After using special tools, the glass is washed with a copious amount of warm water and dried. Glass areas that do not require painting should be protected with paint tape or stencils.
Paint Preparation
The second component - hardener - is introduced into the paint in a ratio of 60 ml. Hardener 1 liter of paint. After mixing the components, the paint on the glass is suitable for painting no more than 10 hours, after this period, the paint should not be used. To reduce the viscosity of the paint, if it is required, to use purified water, it is not recommended to add more than 5% water. When tinting the glass (translucent color), the paint should be filtered through a filter of 25-50 microns, with normal painting - 100-150 microns.
Glass painting, matting and tinting of glass
Staining is performed at the temperature of glass, paint and painting equipment not less than 18 ° С, relative humidity 50-80%. Recommended spraying parameters: operating pressure 2-3 atm., Nozzle size 1.6-2.0 mm.
The coloring (painting) of the glass is carried out in a single layer, the recommended application thickness is 80-120 μm. Placing the glass is possible both horizontally and vertically. To achieve more intense coloring, an additional layer may be required, but only after the first layer has dried completely.
Drying of painted glass
Drying of the painted glass is performed in the temperature range from 50 to 80 ° C at a relative humidity of 50-80%, drying time is from 1 to 2 hours. You can use both convective and infrared drying.
If the paint and varnish coating on the glass does not require high adhesion and moisture resistance, it is also allowed to dry at room temperature 20 ° C and relative humidity 50-80%, drying time is:
• dust drying, "to tear" - 2 hours
• before applying the protective film and stacking - 24 hours
• for machining - 3 days
• before exposure to water and negative temperatures - 5 days
• complete polymerization of paintwork after 7 days
Warehousing and transportation
Before storing, the painted glass must be laid with soft paper to avoid friction on the painted surface. It is not recommended to expose glassware after staining with long-term exposure to water and negative temperatures for the first 5 days.
