Painting clothes in a domestic environment
How to apply fabric dye at home
Probably, each of us had the idea of repainting an old, faded thing or experimenting and radically changing the look of the product. This is not at all difficult. Modern manufacturers produce a wide range of paints with a rich color gamut, which are suitable not only for professional use, but also for painting in ordinary living conditions. Fabric dye is in powder, pasty and aerosol form. The convenience of painting at home also lies in the fact that modern paints for fabrics and clothes can be used manually and in washing machines.
In domestic conditions, such natural fabrics are well stained. As well as fabrics from mixed fibers, such as viscose. Synthetic fabrics are best dyed with dry cleaning. The fibers of such fabrics do not absorb paint well, and the result will definitely disappoint you. The thing after painting will look dull and will fade after the first wash. Such fabrics require maintaining temperature and special professional dyes. If you still decide to dye the synthetic clothes, and they dyed unevenly, dip them in hot water with the addition of powder or soap.
Staining preparation
Carefully read the instructions, pay attention to the composition of the dye and for which fabrics it is suitable. Also remember the recommended dosage. All this will help you get the result that you expect.
Prepare the things to be stained. Take the necessary container and devices with which you will turn the product over.
Preparation of clothes for painting
To start, wash the thing. If there are any spots on it, they must be removed, otherwise the paint will lie unevenly, there will be stains on the fabric. The appearance of the product will not be attractive.
All accessories must be cut off from the product: buttons, rivets, zippers, as these elements can be damaged during painting and rust over time.
Then you need to weigh the thing that you are going to paint in order to accurately calculate the amount of paint.
If the item is starched, starch needs to be removed, otherwise the paint will not be absorbed. Prepare a soap solution with soda. Boil a thing in this solution for about twenty minutes. Rinse well.
The choice of containers for painting
Take any metal utensils, enameled bowl or stainless steel basin, pan. The container must be clean and without scale, as well as voluminous, so that the thing fits freely and can be turned over. Select the item to be flipped over and stir the item. Ideally, wooden tongs are suitable, but if they are not, you can take a regular peeled stick or a wooden spatula.
Textile dyeing water should be soft. If you only have tap water in your house, you can soften it by adding a little soda to it.
If you dye clothes made of white fabric, the color will be the same as indicated on the dye package. The color thing after painting will be a darker shade than white. To dye a product from a colored fabric, choose the same color a tone darker. For example, paint a green thing with a dark green dye. Black dye is able to repaint any color.
To stain the fabric you will need:

Manual dyeing
According to the instructions, pour the paint for cloth and clothing into the dishes, measure the amount of paint and water, as written on the package. Pour warm water gradually, thoroughly mixing the dye so that it completely dissolves. Put the item in a container, add more water so that it completely covers the product. To make the fabric evenly dye, slowly stir for 30 minutes. Remove the product from the container when its color becomes darker than you planned. When the fabric dries, it will brighten.
After painting, rinse the item thoroughly in cold water with the addition of 1 tbsp. tablespoons of vinegar until the water is clear. This is necessary so that the thing does not fade after washing. Do not dry the painted product in direct sunlight or on a radiator. Lay it out horizontally and let it dry naturally.
